“Ball is a formidable musical force.” —Billboard Magazine
“LaVette’s chill-inducing performance is without question one of the finest you’ll hear all year.” —USA Today
“Muldaur approaches her material with a jeweler’s precision, cutting each tune scrupulously into a fine gem.” —San Francisco Chronicle
Three female legends of soul, R&B, and folk music combine in a phenomenal triple bill. Over the course of her three-decade career, Marcia Ball has earned three Grammy nominations for her music—blending sounds from the Texas-Louisiana border, New Orleans R&B, and piano boogie. Bettye LaVette is rapidly making her mark as one of the greatest soul singers in American music, with an incredibly expressive voice that at one moment exudes formidable strength and intensity, and the next becomes vulnerable, reflective, and full of heartbreak. Maria Muldaur’s roots are in the folk revival of the early ‘60s when she performed in Greenwich Village with Bob Dylan, David Grisman, and John Sebastian.
