“Few choreographers…can create such a world of invention.”—The Guardian
Internationally-renowned choreographer and former William Forsythe dancer Crystal Pite integrates movement, original music, text, and rich visual design with daring irreverence. In her latest piece based on motifs from Shakespeare’s The Tempest, Pite stages a game of revenge and forgiveness, reality and imagination. Chalk-white replicas deliver the essential plot points of the story, but the emotion and tension of the narrative are fleshed out by real characters, with rigourous movement that holds the audience spellbound. Kidd Pivot, which was resident company at Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt for the past two years, “etches itself into the space as well as the memory” (Dance Magazine).
