“Downs spellbinds with the ferocious sweep of her voice.” —Boston Globe
For over a decade, Latin Grammy-winner Lila Downs has traversed the planet, reinventing traditional Mexican music with original compositions that channel blues, jazz, soul, and African roots to support her soaring voice. Known for her appearance in the film Frida and her major contribution to the film’s soundtrack, Downs knits the indigenous music of her native lands—Mexico and the United States—into a sonic fabric where traditional Mexican folk songs, richly textured pop, and American blues and jazz mix with Spanish and English lyrics. Fresh off the release of her recent album Pecados y Milagros, join Downs on a musical journey that’s simultaneously edgy and powerful, yet sumptuous and graceful.
