The Flynn is pleased to be the host site of Community Cinema. Community Cinema is a community outreach offshoot of the PBS Series Independent Lens, which broadcasts different documentary films each month. The screenings held here will be 60-minute ‘preview’ versions of these films, followed by a community forum or panel discussion. ABOUT THIS FILM: By Kirsty Guevara-Flanagan Trace the fascinating evolution and legacy of the original comic book Amazon, Wonder Woman. From her creation in the 1940s to the superhero blockbusters of today, pop-culture’s representations of powerful women often reflect society’s anxieties about women’s liberation. This project is a partnership of the Flynn Center, Vermont Public Television, and the OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) at the University of Vermont.
