“Their voices mesh seamlessly . . . his a rangy croon, hers as ethereal as smoke rings.” —Boston Globe
Country music legends Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell visit the Flynn for a special evening celebrating their new collaborative album, Old Yellow Moon. Harris’s contributions as a singer and songwriter span 40 years and include 12 Grammy Awards and a Billboard Century Award, as well as an induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Crowell is a multi-Grammy-winner whose songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Norah Jones, Etta James, and the Grateful Dead, and whose Diamonds and Dirt album produced five #1 singles. Performing songs both old and new, the two musicians cut across honky-tonk, classic country, ballads, and hell-raisers in a chemistry-fueled performance.
With a slightly punky perspective on vintage American blues, The Devil Makes Three is a breath of fresh musical air. Laced with elements of ragtime, country, folk and rockabilly, the critically praised, drummer-less trio hailing from Vermont – consisting of guitarist/frontman Pete Bernhard, stand-up bassist Lucia Turino and guitarist Cooper McBean – brings forth a genuine approach to acoustic music that is deeply steeped in rhythm.
Dress Circle seating applies. Dress Circle means that two rows of seats are set up in front of row A. As with all shows with Dress Circle seating, there will be no live orchestra for this performance.
