The festival ends on a thrilling note with iconic American composer George Crumb’s Songbook, a collection of spirituals for baritone, piano, and an armada of percussion instruments that will fill the Elley-Long stage. On the first half of the program will be coloristic piano works by Debussy and Chopin, two composers from whom Crumb draws great tonal inspiration, and an exciting work for violin and piano by one of Crumb’s most noted recent students, LCCMF Resident Composer David Ludwig.
