1.
What is my user name and password?
If you already have an email address on file with the Flynn, from the
FlynnTix homepage, click on "Log In."
There is a link that says “Forgot User Name or Password?”
Click on this link. Simply enter your email address and an email will
immediately be sent to that email account containing the appropriate information.
If you do not currently have an email address on file with us, you will
need to create a user name and password by registering on the site. To
do this, go to the "Log In" page and click on the "Register"
button.
2. How can I search for the
performance/show I want?
There are many ways to search for a performance.
1. From the FlynnTix homepage: www.flynntix.org
a. The homepage offers three columns. The first (to the left) lists
frequent presenters for which the FlynnTix Regional Box Office sells
tickets. The middle column lists the next 10 events that are happening
at the Flynn Center, either on the MainStage or in FlynnSpace. The right
column lists the next 10 events that are happening at regional venues
(those other than the Flynn Center) for which FlynnTix is selling tickets.
b. You can click on "calendar" in the upper left corner. If
you know the approximate date of the show this may be the best way to
find it.
c. You can also click on “ticket search” in the upper left
corner. With this function you can search by date range, OR artist,
OR venue, OR presenter, OR keyword. A keyword is a general term that
might describe a show or set of shows, for example, jazz, dance, Broadway,
etc. Venue and presenter searches are drop down menus where most, but
not all, of the venues and presenters for which the FlynnTix Regional
Box Office sells tickets are listed. For the artist search, if searching
for a group or band, you will usually be able to locate it by searching
on the full name of the band. However, if you are searching for a single
artist, you should enter ONLY their last name into the search field.
For example, if you’re looking for Bruce Hornsby, type Hornsby
into the search field. If you enter his full name, the system will not
be able to locate the performance.
2. From the Flynn Center homepage: www.flynncenter.org
a. In the upper right corner, click on the “FlynnTix Buy Tickets”
icon. Follow the instructions above (part A of this question’s
answers).
b. Or, in the upper right corner click on the “search” icon.
This allows you to either search the Flynn Center site using keywords
or go to the FlynnTix searching functions (discussed above in part 1of
this question’s answers).
c. In the upper left corner, pull down the “Events” menu.
You can get to the search function via three options from this menu
pull down. You can search for your performance with search, you can
browse the calendar, or if you know that the performance you are looking
for is presented by the Flynn Center, you can click on “flynn
center presents” and view the current season's performances organized
by genre (ie broadway, jazz, etc…).
3. How do I purchase a Flynn
Center Membership?
Individual Memberships may be purchased on line: Go to www.flynncenter.org
and click on “Support the Flynn,” it will expand into a menu
and then choose “Individual Membership.”
Corporate Memberships cannot be purchased on line. You may view the benefits
of corporate membership on line at www.flynncenter.org.
Click on “Support the Flynn,” and then choose “Corporate
Membership.” To purchase a Corporate Membership please contact
Nancy Abbott-Hourigan at 802-652-4505 or nabbott@flynncenter.org.
4. I’ve selected my
show, entered my section and quantity, how do I place the order?
Scroll down the page until you see the “Reserve Tickets” button.
Click on this button and proceed.
5. Where do I find my seat
numbers?
Once you get to the "Shopping Cart" page (after clicking the
"Reserve Tickets" button and logging in) you will see your seat
numbers in the details of the show.
6. What if I want to
change my seats or sit in a specific area?
The web ticketing system will assign you the best seat available seat(s)
in the price level/section you select. If you want to sit in a specific
area within that section or have specific seating requests, please call
the Box Office and order your tickets on the phone or visit the lobby
window at 153 Main Street, Burlington, instead of purchasing on the web.
7. Can I see my seats
on a seat map?
Yes, for reserved venues (Flynn MainStage, some events at Memorial Auditorium,
etc.) the name of the venue will be a link on the shopping cart page.
If you click on the venue name a seat map will pop up.
You can also click the links here: Flynn
MainStage / Champlain
Valley Fair / Memorial
Auditorium / McCarthy
Arts Center at Saint Michael’s College / Royal
Tyler Theatre at the University of Vermont
8. Why do the tickets
cost more than what was advertised?
Often promoters advertise ticket prices without taxes or surcharges
added into the cost and then put in small print that applicable taxes
and surcharges will apply. When you add up the total cost of the taxes
and surcharges, the actual ticket price is often higher than the advertised
price. The ticketed price you see displayed on the FlynnTix web site includes
these taxes and surcharges.
Please remember that the Flynn charges phone and web convenience fees
(click here for more information about convenience fees).
These convenience fees will be a separate line item on your on-line summary
(not included in the ticket price). When you receive tickets in the mail
the convenience fee will be noted to the left of your address.
9. How much are the
Online Convenience Fees and Phone Convenience Fees, and what are they
for?
The Online Convenience Fee is $2.25 per ticket. This fee allows
the Flynn to cover the additional infrastructure costs entailed in processing
web orders. These costs include those for computer software and hardware,
web site design, development and maintenance, and communications technology.
The Phone Convenience Fee is $2.25 per ticket. This fee covers
the costs of staffing and upkeep of the phone system as well as the software
and equipment required to run a call center.
The Outlet Convenience Fee is $2.25 per ticket. This fee covers the costs associated with maintaining an outlet site at Copy Ship Fax Plus in Essex Junction, Vermont.
The FlynnTix convenience fees can be avoided by purchasing tickets in
person at our window at 153 Main Street in Burlington but all other taxes
and fees will still be applicable.
10. What if I want
someone else to pick up my tickets for me?
When you click on the Checkout button on the Shopping Cart page, you will
see options for the delivery method of your tickets. Select “Hold
at Box Office” and in the box below enter the name of the person
that will be picking up the tickets. Remember that an ID is required to
pick up tickets.
11. What if I want
my tickets shipped to a different address?
Once you choose the delivery method of mail and click continue, you will
arrive on the Delivery Address page. You may enter a different delivery
address here by clicking on the “Use New Address” button and
then entering the appropriate information below. You may also ship to
a different name by entering it into the box on the right hand side of
the page.
12. If I buy tickets
for a “rain or shine” show, and it rains, can I get a refund
or will the show be cancelled?
It is always up to the promoter of the show to make the call to cancel
the show. However, if a show is billed as “rain or shine,”
then as long as the artist is able to perform, the show will go on. It
is the FlynnTix policy to not offer exchanges or refunds and when a show
is billed as “rain or shine,” there will be no refunds applicable
due to weather.
13. I am attending
a performance at the Flynn Center. The seat numbers on my tickets are
1, 3, and 5. Are the seats next to each other?
Yes. The section of seats on the right hand side of the Flynn MainStage
has odd numbered seats and the section on the left hand side of the theater
has even numbered seats. This makes it easier to locate a particular seat.
Seating in the center section begins with 101 and is consecutive. If your
seats are consecutive odd or even numbers, then they are next to each
other.
14. Does my two-month/two-year-old
child need a ticket?
Yes. Due to local fire codes, every person needs a ticket regardless of
whether or not they will be sitting in a seat or on a lap. The only exception
to this is that infants up to 12 months old will be admitted free to Flynn
Season Family Matinee performances, specifically designated in the season
brochure. Other promoters will generally specify their policies regarding
children. If there is no specific text with the performance that says
children under a certain age are admitted free, you should expect to buy
a ticket for all members of your party.
15. What is the Dress
Circle? Why is it sometimes available and sometimes not?
The Dress Circle applies to select performances on the Flynn Center MainStage
and means that two rows of seats are setup in front of row A. The performances
that have Dress Circle seating will not have an orchestra. It is the decision
of the promoter as to whether they want these two extra rows. Any time
there is Dress Circle seating available for a performance, it will be
specified along with pricing and other information on our website.
16. Why does the
Flynn ask for my address and phone when I purchase tickets?
There are many reasons that we need address and phone number information,
even if you are buying tickets in person. If you’re paying with
a check or credit card, our system requires that we have address and telephone
information in order to protect all of our customers against fraud. We
also are unique in the fact that we will replace lost tickets for Flynn-presented
performances; in order to do that we need to collect this information
to have a record of the sale so we know which seats belong to whom. Finally,
if there is ever a cancellation or change to a performance, particularly
a date or time change, we need to be able to contact you.
17. Will you use
my phone number for telemarketing or sell it to other organizations?
The FlynnTix/Flynn Center Public Statement on Mail, Phone, and Email List
Policy is as follows: the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts and the
FlynnTix Regional Box Office do not sell or rent mail, phone, or email
lists. Organizations that sell tickets through the FlynnTix Regional Box
Office do receive this information about their ticket buyers. The Flynn
utilizes mail, phone, and email information to promote our own activities,
allowing patrons the right to opt out of any or all of these forms of
communication at any time. The Flynn occasionally shares targeted ticket
buyer mailing lists with like organizations for one-time-use only, to
promote activities that may be of interest to our patrons. Donor lists
are never shared. While the Flynn cannot be responsible for the practices
of other presenting organizations, our partner not-for-profits do adhere
to similar policies. We will not forward any information to them if patron
permission has been denied.
18. Why isn’t
there a student or senior discount available?
Every promoter offers different discounts for tickets to their shows and
some offer none at all depending on the performance. But it never hurts
to ask if there are any discounted prices for a show.
19. When and how
should I expect to receive my tickets?
If you order your tickets more than one week before the date of the performance,
they will be mailed to you via the U.S. Postal Service within two business
days after you place your order. You can also specify that you would like
the tickets held and then you can pick them up at the venue on the night
of the show or anytime before then at the FlynnTix Regional Box Office
window at 153 Main Street in Burlington. If the show is within seven days,
then the tickets will automatically be held for you to pick up at the
venue on the night of the performance. Please remember that an ID will
be required when picking up tickets.
20. What time do
the doors open to begin seating?
Every venue and presenter decides what time they will open the doors,
so if a show is not at the Flynn Center, Memorial Auditorium, or the Champlain
Valley Exposition you should first double-check your ticket. If it is
not printed on your ticket, please call the Box Office at 802-863-5966,
voice/relay calls welcome.
If the performance you are attending is on the Flynn MainStage, the lobby
opens one hour before the start of a performance and the theater itself
opens 30 minutes prior to the show to begin seating. On weekdays, the
Box Office will remain open from 10 am (11 am on Saturdays) through the
start of the show. On Sundays, the Box Office opens one hour before curtain
time.
If the performance is in the FlynnSpace at the Flynn Center, the doors
will open 30 minutes before curtain time. The Box Office will also open
30 minutes before curtain time for FlynnSpace shows.
If the show you are attending is at Memorial Auditorium or the Champlain
Valley Exposition, the doors will open one hour before show time to begin
seating.
21. Can I bring my
camera or recording device to the performance?
Please check with the Box Office as every performance differs on what
is allowed and what is not acceptable to bring inside. In most cases cameras
and/or recording devices are not permitted.
Flynn Center and Champlain Valley Fair policies state that no cameras
or recording devices are permitted inside the venue unless specifically
permitted by the artist.
22. Do I have to
pay shipping and handling fees if I am going to pickup the tickets on
the night of the show or if I reserve them over the phone and come to
the window to pay for them?
Shipping and handling fees are calculated separately when you order tickets
from the FlynnTix Regional Box Office. Shipping charges are $0.75 in the
US and $1.00 to Canada and are not charged when tickets are requested
to be held for “Will Call” (meaning to be picked up at the
venue night-of-show). The $2.25 per ticket phone convenience fee and the
$2.25 per ticket web convenience fee are applicable regardless of how
the tickets are delivered. You will pay these fees even if the tickets
are held for pickup or if you reserve them over the phone and then come
pay for them in person. Remember that you can always avoid the convenience
fees by purchasing tickets in person at our window at 153 Main Street
in Burlington.
