With raucous energy and rich pageantry, Balé Folclórico da Bahia bring to life the colorful palate of Bahia, a region of northern Brazil influenced by myriad cultures. From Samba to Capoeira (an Afro-Brazilian art form that combines martial arts and dance), this troupe of over 30 exuberant performers fills the theater with thrilling folkloric choreography, explosive percussion, and joyous song. Balé Folclórico return to the Flynn following an astounding 2011 performance that featured what Seven Days called “Soulful narratives . . . from one of the most sensual places on the planet.”
