Everything Equine & Canine takes place Saturday, April 26th, from 8:30am-5pm and Sunday, April 27th, from 8:30am-4:30pm at the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Jct., VT. Billed as “Vermont’s First Dog and Pony Show”, the two day event stands apart from many regional shows as a family friendly event with scores of consumer vendors, as well as a full schedule of informative seminars, demonstrations and entertainment for dog and horse enthusiasts.
The popular extreme trail challenge will be on Sunday morning in the Poulin Grain Arena to benefit the Vermont Horse Council. Children will find a space just for them in the 4-H Kids Corner featuring activities, games and information about dogs and horses. Attendees will appreciate the Breed and Discipline Row, located inside the Miller Center, featuring some of the most popular horse breeds. In addition, the indoor Poulin Grain Arena will provide an opportunity for education and interaction for riders, trainers and enthusiasts at over 20 seminars and demonstrations. Featured presenter during the weekend is Shawna Karrasch of On Target Training; she has worked with many notable clients including the United States Olympic Equestrian team.
Dog lovers will have a wide variety of educational options including actual first aid demonstrations for your dog to agility for beginners to advanced. The very popular dog agility demonstration will be presented by Show Me the Biscuit of Williston, Vermont. A staple of the weekend event is the interactive manner in which attendees can learn and see first-hand, at the seminars and demonstrations from seeing-eye dogs, to the Vermont Search and Rescue K9 Unit. A must see during this weekend of events is the dog show, Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test and Meet the Breeds, organized by the Champlain Valley Kennel Club.”
