FREE & open to the public. Cash bar.

Exhibitionists returns! The Flynn's free summer music series in the Amy E. Tarrant Gallery is back, fortified by the collective genius of Waking Windows.

We kick this year's round of three shows off with polymath artist and musician Chris Brokaw. Local rockers Anachronist start the show. Starksboro's Fundanzo and the Wondermuffs (John Flanagan and Amy Wild) will be DJing for the night. Stay tuned for August and September installation announcements.

CHRIS BROKAW was born in New York City and raised in the outlying suburbs. He attended Oberlin College, where he took exactly two music-related classes: Multi-track Recording and Steel Drumming. Chris is perhaps best known for his work as the drummer in CODEINE and the guitarist in COME, who made several albums in the 1990's for the labels Sub Pop and Matador that are considered landmarks in American independent rock music.

ANACHRONIST is the brainchild of Vermont singer, songwriter, and guitarist Brian Clark, with drummer Phil Carr (Viperhouse, MadMan3), bassist Mike Donofrio (Saturnine, The New Year), vocalist/percussionist Angela Paladino, and recently departed guitarist Craig Jarvis. The band has been compared to The Replacements, Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth, Big Star, Low, and Galaxie 500. Their first release, the Row EP (2012), was followed by their first full-length, 2014’s Static & Light, which Seven Days’ Dan Bolles described as “an album whose layers and mysteries reveal themselves gradually, and which heralds the arrival of a uniquely great Vermont band.” Anachronist has shared the stage with Anders Parker & Cloud Badge, Tim Foljahn, Wussy, Chris Brokaw, Paper Castles, and many others, including as part of the Waking Windows Festival. Seven Days described Anachronist’s latest album, Lost in the Corners (State & Main Records 2016), as “a masterwork of succinct pop that both honors and expands upon its inspirational framework.” The band is back in the studio working on a new record with longtime recording guru/henchman Rob O’Dea.
